The Truth behind Anime and the Goals of our Team
When thinking about dangers to modern teens, it is unlikely that one would consider anime. However, anime can be considered one of the most harmful forms of media to most millennials.
But what makes anime so dangerous? Is anime really more than Japanese cartoons? Are the detrimental effects credited to anime truly anime’s fault? These are all questions this passionate and dedicated group of writers seek to solve.
We look at all possible causes like inappropriate content, cultural differences, and radical fans and all detrimental effects like loss of innocence, antisocialism, and perverse behavior. We explore the history of anime’s negative impact on the west and the causes of these impacts.
Through our study of anime culture, we hope to spread awareness and prevention of anime addiction and bring positive change to the anime community.

Weeaboo- a term used to decribe westerners who immerse themelves in Japanese manga and animation. They are often known for writing fanfiction and drawing anime styled art
Manga- a style of Japanese comic books and graphic novels, typically aimed at adults as well as children.
Otaku-(in Japan) a young person who is obsessed with computers or particular aspects of popular culture to the detriment of their social skills. Translates to "your house" alluding to the reluctance of these people to leave the house.
